Harpoon Brewery’s CEO and Newly Elected Brewers Association Board Chairperson Rich Doyle Delivers Keynote Address at the 25th Annual Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego on Thursday, April 17th

Rich Doyle, CEO and co-founder of Boston’s Harpoon Brewery, will open the 25th Annual Craft Brewers Conference by delivering the keynote address this Thursday in San Diego, California. The Craft Brewers Conference is an annual industry event produced by the Brewers Association that serves both brewpubs and breweries. More than 1,600 brewers and industry representatives are expected to attend this year’s conference.

“Rich Doyle was a pioneer of craft brewing in the East and remains a leader for small brewers to continue their progress toward ensuring fair legislative and regulatory treatment. He understands the challenges that craft brewers face with increasing malt, hop, glass, stainless steel and energy costs and the business and public relations dynamics that these issues create. I look forward to a great speech touching on all of these issues” stated Paul Gatza, Brewers Association Director.

In February Doyle was elected to serve a two-year term as Board Chairperson of the Brewers Association, the not-for-profit trade and education association for American craft brewers and community of beer enthusiasts.

Rich Doyle co-founded The Harpoon Brewery immediately upon graduation from Harvard Business School in 1986. Prior to attending business school, Rich received his BA from Harvard University and worked for several years for Lehman Brothers in New York City. His only prior experience in the beer industry before starting Harpoon was bartending in New Zealand. He served as keynote speaker at both Harvard Business School and Boston University and has appeared as a speaker at Inc. Magazine’s “Growing the Company Conference” and “CEO Symposium”. He has served as a panelist at the National Beer Wholesalers Association convention and the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators.

Rich lives in Boston with his wife and two children.
