The Great Pumpkin Festival

As first posted on BeerAdvocate.com, Will Meyers details the upcoming Great Pumpkin Festival to be held at the Cambridge Brewing Company on Friday, October 31st.

I was in there last night with Brace, and can’t recommend the Great Pumpkin Ale enough to anyone who enjoys pumpkin beers.

We’ll be featuring three house-brewed pumpkin beers, plus we are “cask-conditioning” our Great Pumpkin Ale in a giant pumpkin, and tapping and serving directly from the great gourd that night!

Special Guest Beers – First time ever in CBC history, we’ve invited some of our favorite brewers to contribute to this event. To make it even more special, these are NOT your average, easily acquired pumpkin beers! Read on…

Elysian Brewing Co., Seattle, WA – PK-47, a pumpkin malt liquor – Our friend Dick Cantwell began the Granddaddy of all pumpkin festivals a few years ago, mostly just to spite me and the fact that I hate having to chop so many pumpkins each year. It’s working.

Jolly Pumpkin, Lansing, MI – barrel fermented sour pumpkin ale – Ron’s first time ever making a pumpkin beer!
Woohoo! Jolly Pumpkin Pumkin!

Portsmouth Brewing Co.(You know where it is)- the Great and Wise Tod Mott’s personal take on this glorious autumnal brew, and he’s sending us a wee dram to share.

The Alchemist, Waterbury, VT – Our friend John Kimmich has risen to the challenge of the pumpkin, and it was surprisingly easy to convince him to take the plunge. He’s sending us a cask-conditioned Pumpkin Hefeweizen!

Official information will be forthcoming. Come in costume!
(I know, we’re all already wearing one…)

Peace,
Will
