HAPPY ST PATRICK’s Day

We have a tradition here at 2Beerguys.com to honor our good friend Ignace.  If you check out the 2beerguys.com, you’ll see our fun St. Patrick’s Day remix logo.  In case you missed it, here it is:

Who is Ignace?

He’s our Belgian.  Every good beer website needs a reputable Belgian.  We’ve never thought of Ignace as our “mascot” per say, but more like our beer ambassador of kwan.  “Yeah, man, it means love, respect, community… and the dollars too. The whole package. The kwan.” He’s introduced us to Urthel and Orval.  He’s taught us that taking the time to create a quality beer is more important than pumping out quantity.

Here’s an excerpt from the Belgian Beer dinner blog:

There will be accents and interpretations, but the only things that are important are that the food is great and prepared with love and good ingredients and that the beer is fresh and at the right temperature. Most important is that all manner of men or women folk partake of it to please their hearts and minds and that they leave the table with their souls replenished and their spirits uplifted. If that is the case, and it won’t be the fault of the food or drink, you did it right and I will sit at that table any time you care to have me.

Ignace is our scholar and master of many languages.  He’s consistently pushing us to look for more in a beer…..  A big beer without balance isn’t a better beer.  A strong alcohol burn doesn’t make a beer better, it makes it worse.

While Ignace taught us the importance of love, respect and community, we taught him that America is doing some kick ass things with beer.  He’s spreading the word to his friends in Belgium.  Maybe there’s be a day that American Craft Breweries are exporting their beer to Belgium.  Maybe they already are?

If you’re heading out for St. Patrick’s day hoopla– be safe.  Plan ahead and make smart choices.  A $100 dollar taxi ride is cheaper than ANY alternative.
