Fire Island Lighthouse Ale featured at North Fork Craft Festival

The Official Beer of the Summer is Now on Tap at the North Fork Festival

OCEAN BEACH, N.Y. – Recently named as the Official Beer of the Summer by NBC New York (6/09), Fire Island Lighthouse Ale, the first of many offerings from Fire Island Beer Company, is exceeding sales expectations all over. In just three short months sales have already surpassed the full year sales projections from the craft beer start-up.

Growing in popularity, Fire Island Lighthouse Ale will be one of the featured taps at the North Fork Craft Beer BBQ & Wine Festival at Martha Clara Vineyards in Jamesport, N.Y., on Saturday, August 8th.

Brothers Tom and Bert Fernandez, and their cousin Jeff Glassman, had the big idea for the craft beer during the many summers they spent working The Shack, a lunch counter/bar near Fire Island’s Atlantique Beach that catered to surfers and other beach go-ers. “We always wanted our beer to capture the laid-back ambience, unique character, and color of Fire Island,” says Jeff Glassman, co-founder and President of Fire Island Beer Company.

“With a soft carbonation and light caramel finish Fire Island Lighthouse Ale is easy to drink, it has the toasty round body of a classic American Ale to give it real substance. It’s a beer for all seasons, all foods, and all friends. Or as we like to say, the kind of beer you want to have a beer with,” says Tom Fernandez, co-founder and beer maestro of Fire Island Beer Company.

So come by and experience what “Craft Beer from the Other New York” really tastes like and see what the buzz is all about.

Jeff Glassman will be available to tell Fire Island Beer Company’s story at the festival or for a preview story leading up to the event.
