Congress “Likes” American Craft Beer Week‏

Late last month, U.S. Representative Betsy Markey (CO) submitted H. Res. 1297 to Congress. The resolution was introduced in support of “the goals and ideals of American Craft Beer Week.”

This sudden and unsolicited act by our leaders in Congress to support small and independent craft brewers has added to our resolve of the importance of small and independent craft brewers in America, not to mention a week to celebrate these main street businesses.

To date, 60 other congressmen and women have signed on to support H. Res. 1297 as it makes its way through committee. We’re asking beer enthusiasts to match this effort by encouraging others to support American Craft Beer Week (ACBW).

How? Well, by celebrating the week, for one, and two by choosing to “like” the American Craft Beer Week Facebook page. The more “likes” we get on the Facebook page, the more we show that small brewers are important to this country. H. Res. 1297 raises the profile of small brewers in our nation’s Capitol and you can help raise the profile of small brewers nationally by supporting ACBW.

How you can help:

  • Go to American Craft Beer Week on Facebook and click the LIKE button at the top. Then encourage your friends to do the same. One lucky “liker” will receive a pair of all session passes to the Great American Beer Festival!
  • Not on Facebook? Go to the ACBW’s Events Page and find a celebration to attend during the week.
