Twisted Pine Ale House Pours Pints of Success

Boulder, Colorado – October 2010 – Despite tough economic times local craft brewers continue to thrive. The Twisted Pine Ale House, a popular local tap room, has shown a sales increase of 55% when compared to 2009. The sales increase created five additional jobs and allowed for an extension of community outreach efforts. Adding to the brewery’s overall success was a variety of awards including three medals at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival and the Colorado State Fair.

An additional boost in sales came after the Twisted Pine Ale House began serving food in September. The menu provides customers unique bites while they sip on their suds. “There was a high demand for food at our Ale House and we answered it,” explains Ale House Manager Emily Valenta. “We created a menu of appetizers and meals designed to complement our wide range of ales.” The operation is nearly 100% compostable and many items are locally sourced. The most popular item at the Twisted Pine Ale House is a tray of four mini grilled cheese sandwiches paired with four seasonal beers.

“People are beginning to spend more and more time at their local brewery,” says brewery owner Bob Baile. “We’re seeing a tremendous increase of people who want to come to the source and drink beer just a few feet away from where it was brewed.”

Unique tap room only beers are also a huge draw these days. Recent exclusive beers include Holy Molé(a chocolate chili beer), Ghost Face Killah(the hottest beer in the world), a continually wet(fresh) hopped pale ale and the soon to be released Mr. Brown Pumpkin Brown Ale. “As more people begin to drink and eat seasonally, they come to expect us to have something to complement it,” add Emily.

“We’ve been hosting a lot more fundraisers and charitable events. We’ve found events that are multidimensional where everyone benefits are the most successful,” says Bob Baile. “Our keys to success are rooted within this community and we want to give back in every way possible.” To this date Twisted Pine’s Canned Food Program has generated roughly 700 lbs of food for the Emergency Family Assistance Association. Twisted Pine’s Program, which offers customers a free pint for every 3 canned food items they bring in, has a goal of generating 1000lbs of food by the end of 2010.
