Seasonal Release: My Bloody Valentine Red Ale
It’s almost time for one of our most popular seasonal release ales: My Bloody Valentine Red Ale. It’s deep red color, caramel malt richness and abundant hoppy flavor and aroma, are the signatures of this unique ale.
We brew a single batch of this tasty brew at the beginning of each new year so we’ll have it ready in time for Valentine’s Day. We expect to have My Bloody Valentine on-tap at the brewery for samples and growler fills on Thursday, January 27th during our retail hours. Look for My Bloody Valentine on draft and from the cask around town at San Diego premier beer bars and restaurants in the month of February.
Barrel-Aged Wee Heavy Scotch Ale 2009 Release
The long-awaited moment will soon be upon us: the newest batch of AleSmith barrel-aged beer is set for release this month on Wednesday, January 26th. The well-aged 2009 batch of Wee Heavy, having rested in Bourbon barrels for close to a year, is ready for release.
These events always garner huge turnouts and seem to bring out the party spirit in everyone. So, to sweeten the deal this time around, the MIHO Gastrotruck will be onsite featuring, among their regular fare, specially-prepared food made with AleSmith Wee Heavy.
There will be a purchase limit of (4) four bottles per person, pending turnout. We want to make sure that everyone has a great time and gets a chance to get some of this highly-anticipated beer, so we reserve the right to change the limit as the sale progresses. We will begin handing out numbers at 10am and the bottle sale will begin at 2:00pm, allowing you time to leave and return if need be.
For those who wish to hang out, we invite you to our Tasting Bar (open 10am-5pm for the occasion). The MIHO Gastrotruck will begin serving at 1:30pm and plan to hang around for a couple of hours.

Please drop in to visit our Tasting Bar for beer samples, half-gallon growler fills, bottle/keg & AleSmith merchandise sales on Thursday 2:00pm-7:00pm, Friday 2:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm-6:00pm. Please call us ahead of time if you are planning on bringing a group of ten (10) or more.
An informative tour of the brewery is conducted on the last Saturday of each month, starting at 12:30pm. You will learn how AleSmith beers are brewed and have an opportunity to sample AleSmith beers at the conclusion of the approximately 1 hour tour.
