Today is your last chance to get your cask on at NERAX 2011 4/2 (MA)

The New England Real Ale eXhibition, NERAX, started on Wednesday March 30 and ends today at Saturday April 2, at the VFW George Dilboy post in Davis Square, Somerville MA.

HAPPY 15th Birthday NERAX!!

Here’s a summary of this weeks activities:

  • Wednesday: Doors opened at 6:00 p.m. sharp for the opening night of NERAX 2011.  On for the night were 14 American beers and 17 British beers along with all three ciders.  The Windsor & Eton Conqueror Black IPA was the first beer to kick, at the very end of the evening.
  • Thursday: Adding 11 new beers, brought the total to 43 firkins: 21 American beers, 19 British, and the 3 ciders. By the end of the night, you had kicked 13.
  • Friday:  Adding 16 new beers, brought the total to 46 firkins: th 18 British beers, 25 American, and 3 ciders. The Reaper was busy, sweeping over 20 great beers off the boards.
  • Saturday: The remaining beers in the wings will hit the stage. As of Saturday morning, the beer lists are updated with the roughly 50 cask conditioned beers we are expected to pour to cap off an epic week at NERAX 2011.

NERAX is organized by CASC, the Cask-Conditioned Ale Support Campaign. CASC is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to boosting awareness of and demand for Real Ale inNew England.

The New England Real Ale Exhibition, is held each spring at the George Dilboy VFW Post, Davis Square, Somerville, MA.

NERAX 2011 will be our 15th Festival. In 2011, we expect to offer more than 90 firkins of Real Ale, comprised of over 50 Britishbeers from England, Scotland, and Wales; and about 40American beers, mostly from New England. All the beers are cask-conditioned, served by gravity or hand-pump
