I can’t think of a better way to spend a chilly Tuesday night, than to venture down the windy roads of 133 and Rt 1 to Gloucester, MA and visit Cape Ann Brewery. A couple weeks ago Sean, Ryan and I made this 45 minute pilgrimage in search of some killer beer and good music.

The sounds of the sea, courtesy of Three Sheets To the Wind enveloped us as we walked into the pub and ordered our beers. Every Tuesday night at 8:30 CAB hosts a sea shanty sing-a-long. Never heard a traditional sea shanty…well, get off the couch and down to Gloucester. This is one of the coolest compliments to a Fisherman’s Ale or Pumpkin Stout ever!

The community vibe is palpable as everyone sits together at their large picnic tables singing, eating great food, and sipping solid Fisherman’s brews. Folks range from babies to Grams and Gramps and everywhere in between. If you can’t feel comfortable here, never mind, don’t leave your couch :).

Get on down (literally) at/to Cape Ann and check out the variety of great beers they always have on tap. Word on the street is the deck has opened at Cape Ann so now you can grip your mug of brew whilst dreaming of the sea…and looking at it. The view is to die for!
