RECAP: 2011 Southern NH Brewers Festival hosted by, White Birch Brewing (NH)
@bill_WBB, #beer
RECAP from July 23, 2011
What can $40 get you these days? If you attended the SNHBF, you got a lot! The ticket price included parking, festival program, bottled water, food and plenty of beer samples served in your souvenir tasting glass.
The festival was held under a big tent beside White Birch Brewing, our very gracious hosts. We had a super smooth entrance, received our glass and went straight to the tasting. We found it really cool that they had tall bar type tables down the center of the tent to rest your beer and food on. They also provided bins filled with iced water for the taking. At the back of the tent, Burrito Me and Firefly American Bistro & Bar were set up with loads of delicious yummies.

The afternoon was spent chatting with current friends in beer, and making some new ones. John, from Squam Brewing, taught us about his one barrel brewery in Holderness, NH. His passion for brewing and love of the craft beer community, were balanced perfectly in the beers he creates. We also chatted with our new friends Annette and Nicole, owners of Throwback Brewery in North Hampton, NH. These ladies run a nano brewery using fresh, local ingredients in their craft brews for their community to enjoy.
Other highlights of the day included sitting on the hill with a plate full of roasted pig accompanied by a refreshing local brew, and walking around taking pics with our very own “bock stars”. I suspect the beer geek buzz was heard loud and clear by surrounding townsfolk!
Further praise wouldn’t do this fest justice. All I can say is get yourself to the event next year. And bring your appetite for great beer paired with killer food and fantastic company.
