What could be better than hanging out on the Newburyport waterfront while listening to the Pete Kilpatrick Band playing in the background? Sipping a stellar brew under a Brewfest tent! That’s exactly what fest-goers got, thanks to Libby McNeill and the many community volunteers.
The Yankee Homecoming Brewfest has been a sold out fundraiser for Yankee Homecoming 2 years running. The promise of a great night supported by an extensive brewery selection is the main draw for fest-goers. The staff kept everyone happy as they made their way around to each of the brewery’s tables. Food was available for purchase from several food vendors.

The diverse crowd ranged from hard-core craft beer lovers; to newbie’s in the CB scene. Most people were eager to try something new but some were ok with sticking to their favorite style. When I asked one man what he was going to sample next, he replied in his best Boston accent, “I’ll have a laaaga” (Lager). Love it. We met one new-to-beer fest-goer celebrating his 21st birthday! I can’t think of a better way to mark such a special occasion!
If you’ve missed the opportunity to make it to Newburyport for the Yankee Homecoming Brewfest, next years event is sure to be even better than this year. Planning is already beginning.
