Commercial Description:
English strong ale matured in Brandy barrels. Conditioned with mission figs and gently spiced with Ceylon cinnamon and Nutmeg. Bottled conditioned in 750ml corked & caged Belgian style bottle

Why I selected the Figgy Pudding:
This was the first beer ever bottled by Block 15 and the second year they have released it, selling quickly each year. A dark, rich ale that gives off sweet aromas of molasses and brandy with the taste of the figs and sweet spices throughout. This is one of my favorite beers anytime of year, but certainly on a cold winter day when a little warming is needed. Block 15 does an amazing job barrel-aging and blending many of their beers and Figgy Pudding showcases that perfectly. It’s also a great beer to cellar and enjoy months or years later.

I have been working on Beaver State Beer since September 2011. I spent my childhood on the coast of Maine before moving to a small town east of Salem, Oregon for my high school years. I graduated from Oregon State University in December 2010 and now work full time in downtown Portland. Since I have been of legal age I’ve loved everything about craft beer and its prevalence in Oregon. I’ve spent time tasting, distributing, and also more recently, brewing craft beer (but mostly just tasting). Block 15 is situated in downtown Corvallis, Oregon. We are in the heart of a bustling area amid shopping, commerce, historic buildings, and the waterfront park. We are also only a few blocks from the Oregon State University campus. Located at the corner of Third and Jefferson, our building was originally built in 1926 for the Gazette-Times newspaper. Through a fusion of old and new, traditional and unique, Block 15 was born.
We take our footprint on this earth seriously. Breweries and restaurants in general create a large amount of waste and use a lot of resources. Through planning and training, Block 15 takes the steps to reduce waste and limit resource consumption.
