Beer Release – Twisted Pine’s La Petite Saison Returns

Twisted Pine - Tree
Warmer weather brings reappearance of the Twisted seasonal

Boulder, Colorado – April 2012 – Days are stretching and temperatures rising. Birds are chirping up a storm and little green things are springing up all over the place. People are packing away skis and lacing up hiking boots and Twisted Pine Brewing Company is rolling out La Petite Saison, their perennial summer seasonal. The award-winning ale will be released at the brewery on April 20th and find its way to store shelves and tap handles the following week.

The recipe for Twisted Pine’s saison utilizes Pilsener malt and white wheat, gently flattered with German Perle, Czech Saaz and American Willamette hops which add subtle, yet intricate flavoring to the beer. The Belgian yeast headlines the show, lacing palates with the delicate, floral esters for which the style is known. LPS is a smooth sipper with a crisp finish, and at 5.3% ABV skirts the upper range of session territory.

Twisted Pine - La Petite Saison

La Petite Saison debuted as Twisted Pine’s summertime offering in 2010, and while the recipe remains unchanged, the label has received a major facelift this time around. Logistics Manager Justin Tilotta describes the label change as part of an effort to visually streamline the many specialty beers packaged by the brewery, adding “we all liked the original design, but it was such a misfit and stood out like a sore thumb when lined up next to our other products.

22 ounce bottles featuring the revamped label will be available throughout Twisted Pine’s distribution base, and for the first time kegs will be sent out of state. The brewery “couldn’t be happier to be shipping La Petite to new places,” declares Tilotta, “especially those warmer states that could use a solid summer quencher.
