Beer: Winter Warlock Oatmeal Stout
Brewery: Bristol Brewing Company – Colorado Springs, CO
Beer Details:

  • Style: Foreign-style Stout
  • ABV: 6.0%
  • IBUs: 25

Commercial Description:
Chock full of highly roasted barley malt and 100 lbs. of flaked oatmeal, the Warlock is a dark and satisfying winter elixir. Smooth, rich and exceptionally comforting. An annually-awaited winter seasonal, and one of their award winners. Winner of the Silver Medal in the Foreign-style Stout category at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival®.

Why I selected the Bristol Brewing’s Winter Warlock Oatmeal Stout:
Winter Warlock only comes out to play during the latter months of the year and lasts through the holidays and throughout the winter. This classic dark brew is a regional favorite that many look forward to sharing every year. The colder months call for a richer robust kind of ale and Winter Warlock fits the bill nicely. This brew really brings out a rich roasted malt flavor, it’s got a touch of chocolate and sweetness and warms the heart when the snows hit.  It’s great with a hearty meal or as a pairing for a rich desert such as cheese cake or poured over ice cream.

About Bristol Brewing Company:
In June of 1994, Bristol Brewing Company settled comfortably in the lap of Pikes Peak and began hand-brewing flavorful, one-of-a-kind ales for the people of Colorado.  That’s why they make their ales using only natural ingredients. You will find them on draught and in bottles at fabulous bars and restaurants throughout the state as well as in six packs at your favorite liquor store. So, if you should get your hands on a Bristol beer, know that it was brewed fresh no more than a few hours from where you’re sitting.
