Brewpublic Unholy LabelWhy I selected Lake Effect UnHoly Mole:
On a trip last year to Chicago I met a few of the founders of ManBQue. This men’s lifestyle group is all about “Meat, Beer and Rock & Roll”. The group even has its own cookbook out along with chapters around the U.S. and the globe.

Now on to the good stuff, Lake Effect Brewing’s UnHoly Mole Milk Stout. Originally brewed for the first time earlier this year, ManBQue collaborated once again with Lake Effect to bring this beer to the market once again for the fall season.

UnHoly Mole pours a deep, jet-black appearance that with aromas of slight smokiness. Upfront there is strong presence of chocolate that is followed up by some dryness of the milk stout. Then there’s delightful dryness from the smoked chilies that pleasantly lingers on your taste buds.

The combination of roasted Arbol, Ancho, Chipotle, and Gualillo chilies compliments this beer quite well. As Brewpublic’s contributing writer, Cat Stelzer, states, “UnHoly Mole offers up a nice chocolate flavor with a quick hit of chilies on the back to keep any potential chocolate sweetness in balance.”  Definitely a beer to seek out!

ManBQue is a men’s grilling and lifestyle organization born out of Chicago’s rock ‘n’ roll community and grown into a global network of DIY grillers, music lovers, craft-beer aficionados, and adventure seekers. Our members come from all walks of life to share in innovation, friendly competition, and all things meat, beer, and rock ‘n’ roll. Once a month, in cities from Boston to Los Angeles, and in countries from Costa Rica to Thailand, our chapters meet in backyards, back alleys, beaches, and anywhere else they can set up a grill to temporarily cast aside the responsibilities and conventions of their daily existence in favor of good food and drink, and to enjoy being a guy.
