About Mark:  I was born and raised in Fort Fairfield, Maine; up in “The County”.  I grew an appreciation for craft beer in college, when friends and I would hit up the local bottle shop and make our own 6 packs of random beers from around the world.  Some were hit, some were misses, but we learned that there was so much more out there outside of the big 3 macro brewers.  I brewed my first batch of beer at 19 years old, with a 1 gallon kit I purchased at Cook as a Moose in Bar Harbor.  It was awful, BUT I learned that I could make my own beer, and I didn’t let a gallon of poorly carbonated motor oil stop me!  Now, 15 years, and probably 2 dozen batches since, I am head over heels for all things beer.  I started Maine Beer Tours in 2012 with my wife to combine my love for craft beer with my love for the great state of Maine.

MarkS Atlantic CoffeeCommercial Description:
This limited edition stout is brewed using fresh roasted coffee from our local roaster, Crooked Porch Coffee of Bar Harbor, Maine, and milk sugar in addition to barley malts.  Adding a touch of natural Madagascar vanilla yields a touch of gentle sweetness and creaminess to the brew.

Why I selected Ellen’s Coffee Stout:
This is easily one of my favorite beers right now.  As a seasonally appropriate beer drinker, I’m all about beers with a bit more body and roastiness this time of year, and Ellen’s does not disappoint.  Waves of chocolate, coffee and vanilla keep me smiling for all 22 ounces.  Maine, for whatever reason, is known for being a big Allen’s Coffee Brandy state.  This is a great representation of a beer version of Allen’s, in my opinion.  Dark in color, coffee and vanilla on the nose with coffee coming in strong on the front with vanilla coming in to round it all out.  Drink it for breakfast, drink it after dinner, just give it a try and enjoy!

About Atlantic Brewing Co:
The Atlantic Brewing Company began as Acadia Brewing in 1990. At first the brewery was located inside the Lompoc Cafe in downtown Bar Harbor and had a maximum capacity of just one barrel at a time. Within a few years the demand for our beers had grown so much that we moved the brewery two doors down from the restaurant and increased our capacity to seven-barrel batches. However, by 1998, we had outgrown that facility as well and so we moved again – this time to our current location on the Knox Road. Our estate brewery was built on the grounds of a 19th century Maine farmstead, employing native vegetation and local stonework.

Today our beers are available throughout Maine and in select states in the eastern US.
