Cool Off This Summer With Mohegan Sun’s Own Thunder Moon Ale

A new look and taste spices up seasonal favorite Thunder Moon

UNCASVILLE, CT (May 2010) – Mohegan Sun is excited to announce the new taste of summer-seasonal ale Thunder Moon on May 28th. The fresh-brewed ale has been redefined as a light pilsner styled beer that will perfectly complement summer.

Thunder Moon has a medium body and finishes rich with a creamy mouth feel. This yellow to deep gold-tinted brew produces a long-lasting white head while incorporating moderately high malts that create a long-lasting hoppy flavor. Brewmaster Joel Johnson has been brewing Thunder Moon since the summer of 1999 and adapted the new recipe to inherit a sweeter malt finish with a perfect balance of hops for the summer season.

The inspiration behind its name comes from the thirteen moons of the lunar months found in an Indian year. Thunder Moon will be available through September.

Thunder Moon is one of four seasonal ales brewed by The Brew Pub At Mohegan Sun. Sachem Ale and Mohegan Lager are brewed year round as well. Guests can find Thunder Moon at: The Brew Pub at Mohegan Sun, Hall of the Lost Tribes, The Wolf Den, Lodge Bar, Harvest Moon Bar, Todd English’s Tuscany, Leffingwells Martini Bar, the East Wind Bar, The Cove and Seasons Buffet.
