Avery Seventeen Anniversary Ale: A Dark Study in German Hops
Released May 14, 2010

How many of you can remember TEN, the first Avery Anniversary Ale that we released back in 2003? What about our ELEVEN Anniversary Ale, which, in addition to TEN, inspired us to create an Imperial IPA on a yearly basis (the next time you have a Maharaja Imperial IPA please raise a glass to the Anniversary series!!).

For seven years our Anniversary releases have given you all manner of strange ales, from 100% brettanomyces fermented concoctions to Weizen Doppelbocks and beyond. This year we’re changing things up yet again: SEVENTEEN, which is best described as a “Dark Study in German Hops,” is our first ever Anniversary Lager! We suggest you head to the closest bookstore, errr… liquor store rather, grab a bottle or two and get to work! Best study session of your life, guaranteed!

About Avery Brewing Company:

Since 1993 our brewery has been committed to producing eccentric ales and lagers that defy styles or categories. Our products are thoroughly American at heart: blending Old World tradition and expertise with ingenuity, creativity and boldness.

We are dedicated to making beer from the inside out: we brew what we like to drink–with utter disregard for what the market demands– and search out fans with equally eccentric palates (We learned long ago that expressing your true self is much more fulfilling than giving in to outside pressures. Don’t you agree?) If you think your taste buds can keep up with our brews, we invite you to check out our entire lineup of more than twenty different beers.

Peace to all and follow your dreams!
