Fort Collins, Colorado, 2011 – New Belgium Brewing, maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale, is encouraging all amateur filmmakers to put the finishing touches on their favorite films for the second annual Clips of Faith Beer and Film Tour. WorldBlu Recognizes New Belgium Brewing as a Democratic Workplace

WorldBlu has recognized New Belgium Brewing for its workplace practices by including it on the fifth annual “WorldBlu list of Most Democratic Workplaces™ 2011”. New Belgium has made the list every year it has applied since 2008. Fifty-two organizations from around the world are recognized on the list created by WorldBlu, a company that specializes in organizational democracy. The list is published at http://www.worldblu.com/awardee-profiles/2011.php.

The standards to get on the list are high and required a large number of New Belgium employees to complete a survey evaluating how the brewery practices ten democratic principles such as transparency, dialogue and listening, integrity and accountability. Some major factors in New Belgium receiving the distinction were its open-book management practices, employee-ownership and high involvement culture. WorldBlu developed the survey tool based on a decade of research into what makes a world-class democratic organization. Not all organizations that apply receive certification.

The “WorldBlu list of Most Democratic Workplaces™ 2011” announcement comes as part of the fifth annual “Democracy in the Workplace Day”, which was April 12. For-profit and non-profit organizations from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the UK, India, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Malaysia made the WorldBlu List from a diversity of industries including aerospace, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications, retail, services and energy, ranging in size from five to over 80,000 employees and representing over $15 billion in combined annual revenue.

WorldBlu has offices throughout the US and UK and specializes in organizational democracy and freedom-centered leadership. Founded in 1997, WorldBlu’s vision is to see one billion people working in free and democratic workplaces worldwide. New Belgium Somersault Bottle

NEW BELGIUM BREWING OFFERS A NEW PLAYFUL SUMMER SEASONAL: SOMERSAULT
Cheerful Ale Offers a New Perspective on Summer Sipping

New Belgium Brewing today announced that Somersault Ale is debuting in April as the brewery’s brand new summer seasonal. Somersault is a fun roll around on the tongue, while requiring only the minimum of palate gymnastics. This is the perfect summer lounge-around beer.

Somersault tumbles out with citrus aroma from Centennial hops, a soft apricot fruitiness tucked into the flavor, a full mouthfeel from the addition of oats and a crisp, dry finish from the subtle addition of ginger.

After four years of Skinny Dip, this new amber tinted blonde offers a twist for hot days of cold beer drinking. Somersault is 5.2% ABV and will be available in most New Belgium markets from April-September. It retails for approximately $7.99 per six-pack.

New Belgium - Ranger IPA

New Belgium’s Ranger 12-Packs Now Feature a QR Code, Allowing You to Explore All Things Ranger on Your Smartphone

Downloadable App Gives Users Access to Local New Belgium Rangers and Offers Music, Food and Literary Book Pairings for New Belgium’s Hoppiest Beer

New Belgium Brewing’s new Ranger IPA 12-packs have a special feature, so before you recycle the packaging, make sure you scan it. The 12-packs now feature a QR (quick response) code, which allows users with a smartphone to get instant access to all things Ranger. By scanning the two-dimensional code, found in two spots on the Ranger 12-packs and in national full-page New Belgium advertising, Ranger fans can follow their local New Belgium Ranger, learn about music, food and even book pairings that go with Ranger. There is a music video (hip-HOP, of course) featuring New Belgium Rangers for the truly committed. To scan the code, smartphone users will need to have a free QR app downloaded on their phone.

Ranger IPA is one of eight year-round beers produced by New Belgium Brewing. The India Pale Ale first joined the New Belgium portfolio in 2010, answering the call from Rangers (and their local beer drinkers) for something new and hoppy. In 2010 Ranger was the fastest-growing new craft brand of the year and the second best-selling overall IPA. Simcoe, Chinook and Cascade hops lead off the beer, with Cascade added again for dry-hopping. Pale and dark caramel malts bring out the hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. Ranger IPA offers 70 IBUs and is 6.5 percent ABV.
