Oct 7th (Fri) & 8th (SAT) Ipswich Brewery – Tales and Ales at the Swett-Ilsley House Tavern. 4 High Road Newbury, MA 01950. 6:30 – 9:00 pm.

In the late seventeenth century, the Swett-Ilsley House was Swett’s Tavern, one of three watering holes in town. The huge fireplace and massive beams are a perfect backdrop for an evening of historic fun! Enjoy traditional local brews and a hearty tavern dinner while listening to tales of sword fights, scandalous romances, and bloody brawls from Newbury’s storied past.

Oct 8th (SAT): New England Wine and Spirits Beer Tasting. Beers from the Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City Missouri. The Smokestack Series is a special collection of bigger, bolder, more complex brews that generally possess a higher alcohol content than our core brands, perfect for sipping or sharing. Oct 8th (SAT): Octoberfest at the Holy Grail. 64 Main Street, Epping, NH. Featured German Beer this month: Hacker-pschorr and Paulaner! We are hosting our 1st annual Pig Roast this month for Octoberfest. Join us on the Royal Courtyard on Sat. Oct. 8th for a great party. Oct 8th (SAT): Pumpkin Fest at BBC Franklin‏, MA. 280 Franklin Village Drive. Franklin, MA. The British Beer Company in Frankin will be hosting the first ever Pumpkin Fest, anchored by a tap takeover featuring seven different pumpkin beer styles.   • Oct 11th (TUE): Harpoon Helps Oktoberfest for a cure – Boston tasing Harpoon Helps will is supporting prostate cancer awareness with a special Oktoberfest for a Cure beer tasting to benefit the Pints for Prostates campaign. The event takes place next Tuesday, October 11th in the brewery tasting room. Tickets are $25, with 100% of the proceeds going to Pints for Prostates, a 501(c)3 not for profit that reaches men through the universal language of beer with an important health message.  http://www.harpoonbrewery.com

  • Oct 15th (SAT): OKTOBERFEST – THE GREATER NEWBURYPORT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. family friendly event on Saturday, October 15 from 12 – 6 PM at the Bartlet Mall. Traditional German beer garden under the tent with authentic German food and baked goods. The event will also feature German music by the Mad Bavarian band and will also provide family friendly entertainment including the Roaming Railroad, a Merry Go Round, carnival games and other child friendly activities.
