Producers of the Award-Winning Philly Craft Beer Festival – Launch Valley Forge Beer Fest, December 2011

OAKS, PA- The producers of the award-winning Philly Craft Beer Festival return to the Philadelphia area with the launch of the first annual Valley Forge Beer Fest being held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. The event will feature an incredible variety of beers from the local area, from across the country, and from around the globe. Tickets are on sale now and selling quickly. Producers predict a sell-out, following in the footsteps of the Philly Craft Beer Festival which has sold out weeks in advance for the last six years. www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com

More than 50 breweries will be filling the Expo Center, serving up samples of their proudest brewing achievements-more than 100 beers in all. “With eight new breweries and brewpubs about to open in the Philadelphia region, the timing of the inaugural Valley Forge Beer Fest couldn’t be better,” said Paul Decker, President of the Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The show itself represents great business for the Valley Forge destination and the expansion of these consumer and entertainment products will only strengthen the region’s appeal to visitors, as well as the hospitality industry’s contribution to its economy.”

Festival attendees are also invited to participate in the programming led by industry pros and local beer authorities, including Dr. Roger Barth presenting THE CHEMISTRY OF BEER; Gary Monterosso, author of Artisan Beer and recently featured on The History Channel, will be debunking BEER MYTHS, and local brewmaster from Yards Brewing Company will offer a taste of history speaking on ALES OF THE REVOLUTION.

The event will help raise funds for the CBC, Committee to Benefit the Children, a local charity that provides resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit area children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. To date, the Philly Craft Beer Fest and the International Great Beer Expo producers have proudly donated more than $50,000 to this local Philadelphia charity.

The Valley Forge Beer Festival (www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com) will have two sessions: 12:30-4:00pm and 5:30-9:00pm. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. A sell-out is expected. Advance purchase is strongly recommended for guaranteed admission. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the event website www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com. Tickets include admission to the festival, a souvenir tasting glass, an opportunity to attend the event’s programming and the freedom to enjoy a 2 oz. sample of any of the beers at the festival.
