Great Rhythm Brewing Unveils New Beer Styles And New Look

Portsmouth, NH—May 13, 2014—Great Rhythm Brewing Co., a premier craft brewery serving customers throughout New Hampshire, is pleased to announce the introduction of two new year-round beer styles. Shipping to distributors beginning in late May, Amplified Amber Ale and Hopstock IPA will take the stage alongside Great Rhythm’s dry-hopped Resonation Pale Ale.

In 2012, Great Rhythm introduced Resonation Pale Ale, a well-balanced and sessionable ale, which has gained the company recognition for brewing hop-forward craft beer.

Available beginning in June 2014, in 22-ounce bottles and on draft, Great Rhythm Brewing will introduce:

  • Amplified Amber Ale—5.0 percent ABV and 25 IBU—This hopped-up interpretation of a classic American style, balances a complex malt profile with a range of floral and citrus hop notes. In a word, electrifying!
  • Hopstock IPA—6.5 percent ABV and 70 IBU—This beer is truly a hop exposition, a festival of hops. Bursting with a harmonious blend of citrusy, floral, and fruity flavors and hop aromas, this India Pale Ale is perfectly imbalanced yet sessionable.

“We’re fortunate to be where we are today, thanks to the success of a single beer style,” said Scott Thornton, Great Rhythm’s founder and brewer, “and though Resonation continues to delight new and seasoned craft beer palates, craft beer drinkers have been looking forward to other Great Rhythm brews for quite some time now. We’re happy to say, the wait is over!”

In addition to the new beers styles, Great Rhythm is revealing a fresh new look and feel beginning in June 2014. The company has teamed up with Fishnet Media, a local creative marketing agency in Portsmouth.

“In the beginning, we invested all we had into the product itself, and there was little, if anything, left over to spend on packaging and branding needs,” said Thornton.  “Customers were telling us how much they enjoyed our beer on draft, but that they struggled to find our bottles on the shelves at their local beer stores. Simply put, our packaging design did not matchup with our tap handle design, and vice versa. We had to address this.”

Jared Lemos, co-founder, Fishnet Media, said, “The craft beer market has exploded, tapping into a very passionate and discriminating consumer base. A brewer’s success certainly hinges on the quality and taste of its product, but its brand personality also plays a vital role. The naming, the imagery, the overall look and feel must resonate with customers or they won’t buy.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the direction of our packaging design and logo refresh,” said Thornton. “The team at Fishnet took the time to understand who we are as a company, and did a great job capturing that in our packaging and labels.”

Matt Neill, creative director at Fishnet Media, said, “We collaborated closely with the Great Rhythm team to better understand their culture and how they wanted to be portrayed in the market. The result is a clean, distinct look that combines their passion for brewing and great music, and we’ve applied this branding to their new offerings — both on the label and their taps.

As distributors begin to ship Resonation Pale Ale, Amplified Amber Ale, and Hopstock IPA to retailers across New Hampshire, craft drinkers can check out Great Rhythm’s Beer Finder for available locations.
