Why I selected Laurelwood Vinter Varmer Brown Ale:

Laurelwood Brewing has been producing some tasty beers in Portland, Oregon since the new millennium. With its Winter Seasonal the brewery continues to take on a style that is not so popular these days, yes a Brown Ale. What Laurelwood does with its Vinter Varmer Brown Ale is do what many Oregon breweries do, add a bit more hops. Vinter Varmer pours a nice dark mahogany color. The beer offers up a strong malt body and character that balances out the hops successfully. Then after a few sips the beer’s toasty, caramel notes come forward. Oh, and the lace left on the glass is one that will make your neighbor next to you on the barstool jealous.
