Day 19: Sebago Slick Nick by Doug Mulford
To celebrate the Holiday Season, we have teamed up with beer bloggers and craft beer enthusiasts around the country to host the fifth annual beer advent calendar. This is the season of sharing and we intend to share our love of beer with you.
During the 31 days of December, we will be sharing our favorite regional/winter seasonals/holiday beers with the help from our fellow beer enthusiasts. We hope that you tune in every day, to hear our stories and share our holiday cheer.

Beer: Slick Nick
Brewery: Sebago Brewing Company – Gorham, ME
Commercial Description: A Winter Beer for the Hearty Souls that call Summer “The Off Season”. Slick Nick Long Winter Ale is a classic Sebago seasonal – warming up Maine Winters since 1998. Best enjoyed when nature’s at its worst, Slick Nick Long Winter Ale’s smooth body offers malty warmth and a touch of hop character. Another reason to be thankful for the season.
-Style: Winter Ale
-Barley: 2-Row Barley, English Crystal and Pale, Red Wheat, Chocolate Malt
-Hops: Tettnang, Northern Brewer
Slick Nick Tasting Notes:
I get a toasty sweetness on the nose, coffee, caramel and toffee in the body, with a crisp (somewhat hoppy) finish. I love this beer because it’s all the best parts of a Red, a Porter and an IPA rolled into one!
