BRECKENRIDGE BREWERY ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING OF ALE HOUSE AT AMATO’S IN DENVER w/ “Denver Spotlight” beer tasting this Friday, April 22, 2:00 – 4:00

Denver, CO – April 2011 – Breckenridge Brewery will celebrate the opening of its Ale House at Amato’s with a grand opening beer tasting this Friday, April 22nd, from 2:00 to 4:00. This “Denver Spotlight” tasting highlights neighbors Breckenridge Brewery, Wynkoop Brewing Company, and Great Divide Brewing – all Denver breweries that are featured on tap at the Ale House. Staff from the three breweries will serve beer samples paired with selected cheeses and visit with guests in the main bar.

The Ale House at Amato’s, located at 2501 16th Street in the Lower Highlands area of Denver, is a unique tribute to Colorado craft beer with 37 of its 42 tap handles devoted to a diverse selection of Colorado’s favorite craft beers. The remaining five tap handles will rotate out-of-state craft beers. Says Todd Thibault, Breckenridge Brewery’s Director of Marketing, “The Ale House at Amato’s is a tasting room for Colorado craft beer.” Complementing the craft beer selection is a wine list of 33 wines, including many of Colorado’s best wines, as well as handcrafted cocktails featuring Colorado-made liquors. The upscale casual menu includes many dishes that incorporate local ingredients and craft beer.

The Ale House at Amato’s has a gorgeous bar and a warm and inviting dining room on the main restaurant level and a full bar and rooftop patio on the second floor. The entire restaurant offers spectacular views of downtown Denver and the Front Range. The beer tasting on April 22nd is the first of many beer-focused events being planned. First tappings of new craft beers, beer dinners, and other special events are on the horizon.

Breckenridge Brewery created 120 new full- and part-time jobs in Denver with the opening of the Ale House at Amato’s. All staff members have been through Breckenridge Brewery’s “Beer College,” which provides craft beer training to brewery/restaurant employees and distributor sales teams. With seating for 400, bars dedicated to craft beer, fantastic views of downtown, and a full menu of unique dishes, the Ale House welcomes locals and visitors to enjoy the Colorado craft experience.

The location that is now the Ale House at Amato’s was formerly Amato of Denver, a family-owned garden décor business that opened in 1922. From 1947 to 2010, Amato of Denver was a landmark of North Denver at the 2501 16th Street location.
