Blogger: Brian Aldrich
Blog Name: Seacoast Beverage Lab
Twitter/Facebook/Untappd: SeacoastBevLab
Beer: Smoked Maple Lager
Brewery: Jack’s Abby & Lawson’s Finest Liquids

Beer Details:

  • Style: Rauchbier
  • ABV: 6%

Commercial Description:
A collaboration between Jack’s Abby of Framingham, MA and Lawson’s Finest Liquids from Vermont. All the malt was sourced from Valley Malt, who used hand-sourced Maple Wood to smoke some of it. The maple character comes from using one gallon of maple syrup for each barrel of beer. It’s rounded out with the addition of lactose sugar and brown malt.

Why I  selected the Smoked Maple Lager:

I am a huge fan of Smoked Beers, toss maple in it and you have an even bigger winter. Jack’s Abby paired up with Lawson’s Finest Liquds to produce a great beer that you can’t get enough of.

There is plenty of smoke to please any rauchbier fan, and just enough maple to know you’re drinking a beer with a true Vermont touch. The only problem with this beer is it is hard to find! So when you find it, share it with a beer lover during the holidays.

About Jack’s Abby Brewing & Lawson’s Finest Liquids:
Jack’s Abby
“Jack’s Abby Brewing” is a nod to Jack’s wife, Abby, and also to the traditions of the European monks who handcrafted beer in their abbeys. The brothers are inspired by that tradition of brewing which emphasizes quality local ingredients, mindful labor and great recipes to create delicious, authentic beer.  For more information, please visit:
